SPARQ is a 140,000 square foot office development in the Ballard industrial area. While the building references the historic warehouses in the neighborhood, this building is high tech. The plan is optimized to fit standard sized, pre-fabricated floor panels over a heavy timber post and beam frame. The floor panels can be made from either Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) or Dowel Laminated Timber (DLT) topped with a cast in place polished concrete floor. Large windows, exposed structure and mechanical systems work well with the industrial aesthetics.
